Hot take: crushed can birds look way better than the flat pressed ones

I know everyone in this group loves those flattened soda can wall pieces, but after trying both approaches for a sculpture contest last month in Portland, I'm team crushed all the way. The 3D angle lets you catch light differently, and my hummingbird made from 12 Mountain Dew cans got way more texture than any flat design. Has anyone else found that the crushed method gives you more control over the final shape?

I built a steelhead trout from 18 Keystone Light cans for a show in Seattle last year, and the flat method gave me cleaner lines on the fins and body. The crushed approach just left too many random folds that didn't match the fish's smooth shape. Have you tried mixing both techniques on one piece to get the best of each?
