Overheard a kid at the craft fair say something that clicked for me

I was at a local craft fair last Saturday and this kid, maybe 10 years old, pointed at my soda can flower wall hanging and said "it's just trash but you made it pretty." That hit me hard because I've been stressing about making my pieces look PERFECT and professional. But he was right, the whole point is taking something people throw away and giving it a second life. Does anyone else ever get caught up trying to make their soda can art look too polished?

Oh man, that kid totally nailed it. It's funny how we overthink stuff and forget the whole point is the transformation, not making it look like factory made junk.

That 10 year old calling it "pretty trash" is exactly why @michaela16 said transformation is the point. So do you think chasing perfection actually kills the whole "giving junk new life" vibe we're supposed to be about?
