Used to print every map before a road trip, now I just yell at my phone for directions
Back in the early 2000s, I'd spend an hour on MapQuest printing out turn-by-turn directions for a 3 hour drive to my aunt's place in Ohio. If I missed a turn, I'd pull over and flip through a giant road atlas. Somewhere around 2012, I switched to using Google Maps on my phone, and now I just type in the address and go. What did you ditch first when smartphones took over?

Wait, Thomas Guides are still around? I thought those went out with folded paper maps in the glovebox. Either way, Google's dirt road habit is a rite of passage at this point.

I used to carry a Thomas Guide in my car until I realized my 2005 Nokia brick phone couldn't even display a map. Now I get annoyed when Google takes me down a dirt road that hasn't been maintained since 1998.
