Warning: Goodwill in Portland jacked up vinyl prices to $5 each now

Stopped by the one on 82nd last Tuesday. Found a copy of Rumours with a scratch that skips through track 3. They want $5 for that. Five bucks for a beat up record. Used to be 50 cents a pop. Now I hit estate sales instead. Scored 40 records for $20 at one last month. Anyone else seeing thrift stores get greedy?

Hold on, are we really calling $5 "greedy" for vinyl in 2025? I get being mad about beat up copies, but Goodwill has to pay rent and employees just like everyone else. Records take up space and they have to sort through mountains of junk to find them. A buck or two was always too cheap for something people actually want to collect now.

Exactly, $5 is totally fair for vinyl these days.
