I finally hit 50 failed prototypes in my garage and it weirdly felt like a win

My half-baked idea for a sock-matching machine just blew up for the 50th time, but each failure taught me something new about spring mechanisms, so has anyone else found that hitting a big number of flops actually pushes you closer to a working gadget?

Solidarity is definitely felt here. Hitting a round number like 50 makes all the blown circuits and broken parts feel like actual proof of progress, not just failure. It's a weird kind of milestone that keeps you going when you're this close to cracking it.

Tried 37 ways to keep my cat off the keyboard before just buying a second one.
