Tried bagged seasoning instead of scratch for chili and wow what a difference
I always thought making chili from scratch was the only way to go. Last week I was in a hurry and grabbed a packet of chili seasoning from the grocery store in Phoenix. I followed the instructions exactly and honestly it tasted way better than my usual blend of 8 different spices. I think I was overcomplicating things all along. Has anyone else had a store bought version beat their homemade recipe?
Had a buddy who swore by his grandma's chili recipe. Made a huge batch for a superbowl party once and it was just okay. The next week he tried a packet from albertsons and brought the leftovers to work. Everyone was asking for the recipe and he had to admit it was from a store bought packet. He was real quiet about it.
