inMy cousin gave me a barbering lesson based on a YouTube clip
My barber friend did something similar once, explaining split ends to a client while literally holding up a piece of their hair like a science project. The person in the chair just stared straight ahead with this frozen smile, probably reevaluating every life choice that led them there. It’s like they forget a real human is attached to the hair they’re using as a prop. My friend was so into his teaching moment he totally missed the client slowly sinking into the seat.

inAm I the only one who cross-references census data with old newspapers?
City directories are such a sneaky good resource. I traced a name change that way when nothing else made sense.

inCan we talk about my flip on small town trips?
Yeah that bit about the hidden village winning you over. I've noticed I do that with a lot of stuff I write off as boring at first. Like, I'll skip the local diner for a chain, but then finally try it and the food's way better. Or I'll think a park bench is just a place to sit, but then you notice the same old couple there every day feeding birds. It's like my brain needs a minute to catch up to the simpler things.

inWarning: Chasing microns is ruining shop floor teamwork
But what if chasing microns is actually forcing us to finally fix our sloppy communication? Those tight specs just show where our processes are weak, and blaming them lets bad habits slide. The real crash comes from skipping steps, not from the print.

inTeaching Gloomhaven to friends taught me a harsh lesson about patience.
Expecting chaos is one thing, but savoring the unpredictable moments... that's where memories are made.
