Gonna be real, I think everyone overrates the theme song for Sailor Moon

I know this is like blasphemy in the 90s kid community but I never got the hype around the original English Sailor Moon theme. My sister played it on repeat on our cassette player back in 1998 and it just grated on me. I actually discovered the original Japanese opening a few years ago on YouTube and that one has way more energy and fits the show better. Does anyone else prefer the sub version over the dubbed theme or am I just weird?

Haha you said "it does slap way harder" and that perfectly describes how I felt after hearing the original Japanese version for the first time. I was in the same boat with the English theme (it just felt too cheesy to me) until I stumbled across the subbed opening on a friend's recommendation. Honestly @jana_henderson52, what worked for me was just giving both versions a fair shot without nostalgia goggles on, and the Japanese one won by a mile.
