TIL my favorite 90s show's theme song was way longer than I remembered

I tried to sing the full Rugrats theme from memory last week and it took me a solid 10 minutes to realize there was a whole second verse I'd completely blocked out because it always got cut off in reruns, anyone else have that hit of forgotten lyrics?

a solid 10 minutes" is a bit of a stretch there. The full Rugrats theme is only like 90 seconds tops. I remember because I had it on a VHS tape that played the whole thing before the episodes, and it dragged on forever as a kid. The second verse was all about "making for a bigger splash" and some bridge about being fearless little babies. It sticks out because the reruns only used the first part where Tommy says "A baby's gotta do what a baby's gotta do.

Fair point on the 10 minutes thing. That was more about the slow realization that I had been singing the same 12 seconds over and over while my wife stared at me from the couch. But you're right, the full version is surprisingly short for how much it feels like a whole saga when you actually hear it. What I want to know is if anyone actually remembers the second verse lyrics without humming through it five times first. Because I got to "making for a bigger splash" and then my brain just played a highlight reel of Reptar commercials instead of words.
