Picked the cheaper AI model over the premium one for a client project
I went with a mid-tier language model instead of the top-shelf option for a chatbot build last month. It handled 90% of the queries fine and saved the client about $400 a month. Has anyone else had good luck cutting costs without sacrificing quality?

Honestly, I saved a few bucks on a cheaper model and it turned my chatbot into a confused raccoon.

Oh man, that is way too relatable! My friend Sarah tried to do the same thing with a super cheap model for her little side project, and it turned her assistant into this total mess. It kept mixing up her grocery list with her work emails, so she'd get reminders to buy milk in the middle of a client meeting. One time it even started replying to customers with recipes instead of order confirmations. She spent more time fixing its mistakes than she saved on the price tag, it was honestly hilarious to watch but must have been so frustrating for her.
