My frozen fries went from soggy to perfect after I stopped crowding the basket

For years I'd just dump the whole bag in, but a guy at the hardware store said to leave space. Now I do two batches and they actually get crispy. Anyone have a good trick for reheating them later?

Wait, are we sure it's not just a bad oven? I've always dumped the whole bag in and mine come out fine, maybe a little soft in the middle but that's how I like them. Doing two batches seems like a waste of time and power to me. For reheating, the microwave is totally fine if you just cover them with a paper towel.

Yeah, that spacing thing is a game changer. I always thought more fries meant more crispy surface, but it just steams them into mush. For reheating, the air fryer is the only thing that works for me. Toss them in for a few minutes and they come back almost like new. The microwave turns them into rubber every single time.

Microwave with a paper towel is a sure way to get sad, chewy fries. The air fryer trick is the real move for reheating, brings them right back.
