My sister's air fryer manual said it could dehydrate fruit, which I found out after I saw her making apple chips in it last weekend.
I checked the manual for my own model (a Ninja Foodi) and sure enough, it has a dehydrate setting I've never even touched, so now I'm wondering what other non-fried things people are making in theirs.

Dehydrating is great, but that setting also makes fantastic homemade jerky.

My Ninja Foodi manual is still in the box, so I had no clue about the dehydrate button. Homemade jerky like wadea53 mentioned sounds amazing, but I'm stuck on the idea of apple chips. It feels weird to make dried fruit in the same machine I use for fries. I need to try this soon because it could save me so much money on snacks. My kids go through bags of dried mango way too fast.

Oh I made that mistake with my Cosori, had the dehydrate setting for six months before I realized it could do citrus wheels for tea. Marinade the apple slices in cinnamon sugar first, trust me on that.
