Just had a fuel control unit on a King Air 200 act up right before a test flight

Honestly, it was the Honeywell unit on N123AB. We did a full run-up and the fuel flow was all over the place, jumping between 200 and 400 pph. Had to pull it and bench check it, found a sticky valve. Anyone know a good shop in Phoenix for a quick overhaul on these?

Totally agree about hot weather making it worse. That heat seems to thin the fuel just enough to let any tiny bit of grit or varnish cause havoc. I always push for a full system flush after a valve sticks, because that debris had to come from somewhere in the tanks or lines. Did you end up finding any other contamination after your abort?

Sticky valves are the worst, had one cause a full abort on a hot day last summer. I've heard good things about Aero Precision over at Deer Valley for quick turnarounds.

Yeah, a good flush saved me a ton of headaches later.
