inWarning: I read a forum post saying you should always answer every question asked here
But sometimes you have to just go with your gut, you know? I've found that waiting for perfect info means you never answer at all. Most questions are vague because people don't know how to ask for help yet. A quick, honest guess can start the real conversation they need.

inVent: Our street's new LED streetlights are killing the night sky.
That "shadow from the moon" thing is so true. I went camping last fall and the first night, I just stood there staring up. Forgot how many stars there actually are, you know? It was almost scary.

I remember SHR, but @coleman.charles, they've actually been around for about 40 years now.

inAfter finding cracks in the plaster, I'm stressing over my farmhouse's load-bearing wall. Any tips?
That "better safe than sorry" line from @noah387 is so true. It reminds me of my neighbor who freaked out over a sagging beam in his old barn. He was ready to tear the whole thing down. Turned out it was just the original, hand-hewn timber that had warped a bit over a century. It was still solid as a rock, just quirky. Sometimes old houses just have personality you know.
