Fell for a $200 wireless alarm panel that was pure junk
I bought a wireless panel from a random online supplier back in March, spent $200 thinking it'd save me labor on a small office job. Thing dropped signal every time someone walked past the break room fridge, customer called me 4 times to reset it. Ended up ripping it out and putting in a hardwired DSC panel instead, cost me another 3 hours of unpaid work. Anyone else get burned by those cheap wireless systems that promise the moon?

...and that's exactly how my March went too, spent almost the same amount on a wireless system from a random drop shipper. Mine would drop connection every time the office microwave ran, which is basically a daily thing. Had to eat the cost and rewire everything with a basic wired panel, took me a whole Saturday I'll never get back. Those cheap wireless boards are just not reliable for commercial spaces, plain and simple.

Ah man, that really stinks. I feel your pain on losing a whole Saturday like that, those are just gone forever. It's one thing when a fancy gadget fails at home, but in a commercial setting with people depending on it every day, that's a whole different level of headache. The microwave thing is brutal too, you'd think they'd test for that stuff before selling it. Solidarity from someone who's been burned by "cheap and easy" solutions more times than I can count.
