Hit 200 panel swaps this week, here's what surprised me
I just finished my 200th panel swap since I started counting back in March 2022. That's a lot of old Honeywell and DSC boards coming off walls. What caught me off guard was how many of those jobs had at least one wire that was stripped too long and touching the case. I never tracked it until I hit 50, then I started noting it. Out of 200, 47 had that exact issue, almost a quarter. Anyone else keep a count like this and notice some weird pattern in the old installs?

Oh man, that stat is wild. I was doing an old panel last week and found the same thing, wire stripped so long it was basically kissing the metal case. I started checking grounds on every swap now, and honestly it's scary how many are barely hanging on. It makes me wonder if some of those old installers just had a bad day or if it was always like this. I once counted 9 loose neutrals in one box alone, felt like I was fixing someone else's homework.
