Learned last Tuesday to keep the keypad wire away from the AC line in a Chico attic
I was wiring a Honeywell keypad in a two story off East Ave and ran the 4 conductor right next to the air handler's power feed because it was the shortest path. Two days later the homeowner called saying the panel beeped every time the AC kicked on. Turned out the induced voltage was messing with the data line, so I rerouted it 8 inches away and twisted the pair. Also threw a ferrite bead on it for good measure since I had one in the van. Has anyone else fought phantom beeps from a keypad wire sharing a stud bay with high voltage?

Man, I read on a forum that twisting the pair helps cancel that induced noise right out.
