Vent: my light meter app was lying to me for 6 months
Switched to guessing exposure by eye after a roll of Portra came back 2 stops dark from what the app promised, and my last 3 rolls in Austin have been dead on. Has anyone else ditched the meter and just trusted the sunny 16 rule?
Sunny 16 all day. That app was probably metering off some bright spot in the frame and pulling your whole roll down. Trusting your eye works once you know what 1/125 at f16 looks like on a bright day, and Austin sun is about as predictable as it gets. Half the time phone meters get fooled by shadows anyway.
