DAE find anime club chats getting too quick after switching apps?
My anime club used to meet in person and spend hours breaking down episodes. Now we use an app for chatting, and conversations zoom by in seconds. Like, someone shared a cool idea about 'My Hero Academia' but it got buried under gifs and memes. I feel like we don't really think about the stories anymore. Has anyone else had their group move to apps and face this? How do you slow things down to actually debate plots? I could use some tips to make our online time feel more like the old talks.

Somebody in our book group made a rule about no rapid replies.

In my group, we slowed down by taking turns and it helped a lot lol.

My apartment building's group chat had to ban quick texts after 10pm. People were just reacting, not reading, and it caused so much pointless drama. It feels like every online space now needs a speed bump because instant replies kill actual conversation. We're all trained to hit send fast for likes, not to add something real. That book group rule is smart, it forces people to sit with an idea for a second. Slowing down is the only way to get past surface level stuff.
