Just wasted $75 on a 'professional' brush cleaner that wrecked my favorite set

Grab a bottle of the dollar store stuff and call it a day. Mine's held up fine through a few washes, but maybe I'm just lucky or my brushes are tougher than I thought. If they get brittle, I'll just blame the shampoo and buy new ones in two years.

That $40 self-watering planter was a total scam on my balcony

Those cherry tomatoes were doomed the second that plastic hit 100 degrees. Mine warped into a sad taco shape before I even got to water anything.

That one time I fell for a fake password reset email at work

Man, I used to think I was too smart to fall for stuff like that. Like I'd see those obvious "Nigerian prince" emails and laugh, you know? But then my company sent out a fake phishing test and I actually clicked it. It was embarrassing. The redirect was off by one letter too, just like yours. Made me realize how easy it is when you're rushing through your inbox and not paying attention.

Dutch glue in a spray bottle made my last rebind peel off in sheets

Right, some older papers had a sizing or coating made from gelatin or animal glue that just doesn't bond with modern acrylic sprays. That spray will sit on top and peel right off instead of soaking in and sticking.

Overheard a building super say elevator mechanics just push buttons and collect checks

Jabbing the test button with a screwdriver" - classic. I'm pretty sure that's how I'd fix my own car too if I was brave enough (I'm not, I'd probably short something out and make it worse). But hey, at least you saved some cash before the real problem showed up.
