I crunched the ratings on 500 anime from my list and one stat surprised me

I spent last weekend going through MyAnimeList and actually counted how many shows I rated 7 or higher vs below 7. Turns out I gave 78% of them a score above 7, which blew my mind because I always THOUGHT I was a harsh critic. The number came from just adding up my profile stats manually and doing simple division. This got me wondering if everyone else inflates their scores too or if I'm just bad at judging what's actually good. Has anyone else run the numbers on their own ratings and found something weird?

78% is just average on MAL honestly, everyone rates their favorites way higher than they deserve.

my boy mark put 9/10 on darling in the franxx just because zero two has pink hair. got mad when i said the second half was a mess. MAL ratings are honestly just vibes based at this point lmao.
