bro that's wild, honestly i feel for you. been there with a busted fridge part and having to MacGyver some random thing just to get ice for a drink in this heat. people really don't get how frustrating it is when it's 110 outside and the ice maker is the only thing keeping you sane. hope they at least gave you a cold water or something.

Man, "the only thing keeping you sane" hits way too close to home. I had a similar thing happen last July when my AC went out for three days (worst timing ever) and I ended up sleeping on the kitchen floor next to the fridge just to catch that little bit of cold air. It's honestly ridiculous how much we rely on these basic things until they break, then suddenly you're living like a caveman trying to keep a bag of ice from melting. And yeah, a cold water would be the bare minimum, but I bet they handed you some lukewarm tap water and called it a day.
