Appreciation post: my sister's rule about counting cheese slices on the plate saved my book club night
She told me 6 months ago in Austin to always lay out one slice per guest plus 2 extra so the plate never looks picked over, and last Friday with 9 people crowded around my coffee table not a single person hovered awkwardly or asked if there was more, so now I want to know what other headcount rules people swear by for dips and fruit.
