My cousin said my fruit plate looked 'sad', now I add grapes to everything
Last month at a family BBQ in Columbus, my cousin looked at my melon and berry arrangement and said 'this is the saddest fruit plate I have ever seen, it needs grapes for color contrast'. I thought she was joking, so I added a pile of red grapes and suddenly people wouldn't stop grabbing them first. Has anyone else had one tiny comment completely flip how they build their plates, or am I just too sensitive about my fruit aesthetics?

Did the grapes actually change how it tasted to you or was it just about the look? Curious if you'd still add them if nobody ever said anything.
