Still thinking about that one friend who refused to eat anything that touched on the plate
So my friend Sarah came over last weekend and I made this huge spread of crackers, brie, grapes, and some prosciutto. I set it all out on one big board like I always do, real nice looking. She straight up told me she couldn't eat anything because the cheese juice might have touched the crackers she wanted. I get some people are picky but it was such a buzzkill. Has anyone else run into a guest who has super strict rules about their snack plate setup?

Felt this one hard. I had a buddy come over once and he literally brought his own Tupperware of plain rice because he didn't trust my cooking oil touching anything else. It's tough when you put effort into a spread and someone's rules take all the fun out of sharing food together. I think some people get really anxious about textures or flavors mixing, like it's a sensory thing they can't switch off. But still, it kills the vibe when you're trying to host and they're hovering over the plate like it's a minefield. Did she at least eat anything separate from the main board, or was it a total loss?

A buddy bringing his own Tupperware of plain rice is rough. You spend all that time prepping and they show up with their own safety blanket. I had a friend once who would only eat food that was on a separate plate from anyone else's food, like he was afraid of cooties or something. Made potlucks impossible because he'd stand there watching everyone serve themselves first so he could get a "clean" scoop from the bottom. It's just hard to enjoy a meal together when someone's rules make the whole table feel like a science experiment.
