The tasting flight trick from a local olive oil shop changed my snack boards
Went to a small olive oil place in Portland last Saturday, the kind where they let you sample everything. The owner poured three oils in a row and had me taste them from mildest to strongest, with plain bread in between. Said it resets your palate so you actually notice the difference. Tried it at home with my next cheese plate, three cheeses from mild to sharp with plain crackers between each. My wife thought I was being fancy but honestly, it worked. The flavors came through way clearer. Has anyone else tried this sort of sequencing with their snack spreads? It feels like a simple thing but it really changes how you build a board.
