Just realized my car AC issue was a $12 fix, not the $800 compressor shop quoted
Took my 2012 Civic to a shop in Austin last Tuesday and they said the compressor was shot, but a buddy told me to check the relay first. Swapped it for $12 at AutoZone and cold air came right back, how often do shops just skip the simple stuff? Anyone else caught a quote that was way too high for what turned out to be a basic part?

Why would a shop waste time on a $12 relay when compressors are the real moneymaker?
