So I spent a whole day trying to answer a question about the best way to peel a boiled egg.
It started as a simple ask, but then my friend's mom swore by a teaspoon method, my brother used a blow dryer, and I ended up with eggshell confetti all over my kitchen in Chicago. What's the weirdest method you've actually seen work for something totally basic?

Oh man, I feel your pain. My uncle insists the only way to peel a potato is to boil it whole and then slam it on the counter once. It sounds crazy, but it actually works, and now my kitchen wall has potato starch stains. Why do simple tasks turn into these weird experiments?

Ever notice how people turn basic chores into performance art, @hernandez.gavin? It's like we get bored and add drama to feel like geniuses. Then we're just left cleaning potato off the ceiling.

Ugh, yes. It's like we're all trying to make a boring task into our own personal TED Talk. My roommate has a whole system for folding socks that takes longer than just... folding socks. The cleanup is always worse than if we just did the normal thing.
