That one guy at the hardware store who refused to let me return a bent level
I was at the Ace Hardware on 4th Street last Tuesday trying to swap out a 48-inch level that came slightly bent in the package, and the clerk just stared at me for a full 20 seconds before saying 'you probably caused this yourself.' He wouldn't even check the box or call a manager, just crossed his arms and told me to go home and check my own wall first. Has anyone else had a return denied by a stranger who decided you were lying without even looking at the product?
Hold up, are we really getting bent out of shape over a $30 level? I mean yeah, the guy sounds like a tool, but 20 seconds of staring probably felt like forever because you were already annoyed. Next time just tell him to grab the manager, that usually snaps em out of it. Honestly though, the package was open, so he had a point about not knowing if you dropped it first.
