Thought I knew how to check tire pressure. Got a rude surprise.

I was in the parking lot of a Walmart in Akron last Tuesday, just trying to top off my tires before a long drive. The gauge showed 32 PSI on all four, so I figured I was good. Turns out that was winter pressure and I needed 36 PSI for summer driving, which I only discovered when my friend Mike pointed it out. He showed me the sticker inside the driver's door frame and I felt like an idiot. Has anyone else missed an obvious car detail like that and paid for it later?

Oh wow, that sucks but honestly it happens to way more people than youd think. I actually read this article once that said something like 1 in 4 drivers dont even know where their tire pressure sticker is, let alone the right numbers. So youre not alone there. But at least you found out from a friend instead of a blowout on the highway, which woulda been way scarier. That oil story is rough though, kinda makes your tire thing look like a rookie mistake in comparison lol. Gotta admit, I check my oil way more now after hearing stories like that. Live and learn I guess.

oh man, my buddy Dave did something similar but way worse. He bought a used car and never bothered to check the oil because the salesman said it was "freshly serviced." Six months later, he's on the highway and his engine starts knocking real bad. Turns out there was barely any oil in it and he ended up needing a whole new engine, which cost him like four grand. He still gets made fun of for that one, especially since the oil dipstick was right there the whole time. Did you at least catch the tire thing before a blowout or something?
