The image sharpening tip a random park ranger gave me ruined my old edits
She said to zoom to 400% before hitting any clarity slider, and after trying it on a 3-year-old nebula shot from Big Bend, I can't unsee how much detail I was blowing out before, anyone else had a throwaway comment like that change how they process everything?

Zooming in first is such a small thing but it really works. Same deal with me and a noise reduction tip from some guy on a forum years back. He said always check at 100% on the actual pixels before you trust what you see fit to screen. Sounds dumb but I was smearing so much stuff before that. Now I keep it at 100% and barely touch the sliders. Your mileage may vary depending on your camera though.
