I thought the guy at the Kirkwood barber shop was scamming me on the $35 beard trim
Went in last Tuesday for the first time and he told me the hot towel and straight razor thing takes 40 minutes, which sounded like a total upsell from my usual $15 spot. Turns out he actually reshaped my whole jawline and I could see the difference in the mirror right away, plus he threw in a free neck shave. Anyone else got a barber in the ATL area who actually earns the extra $20 or am I just lucky with this one guy?
Did you notice how the cheap version always ends up costing more? That's the pattern I keep seeing. You pay $15, then a week later you're back because the shape is already gone, so now you've spent $30 and wasted two trips. Same thing happens with cheap shoes, cheap tools, all of it. When someone takes their time and does the job right, you usually end up paying less over the long run. Sounds like your guy is the real deal and worth keeping.
