My Buford Highway food crawl map got wiped and I had to rebuild it from texts
I keep a running list of spots on Buford Highway in my phone notes, around 40 places I've hit over two years. Last Tuesday my phone did a reset on its own and the whole note vanished, no backup. I sat in the Plaza Fiesta parking lot for 20 minutes trying to remember everything. Rebuilt it from old texts with friends and my bank app, down to the last taco spot. Ended up with 34 entries, so 6 got lost for good. Anybody know a note app that actually syncs instead of trusting one phone?
Oh sure, your phone just decided to nuke 40 restaurants worth of memories on its own, totally normal Tuesday behavior. That thing was probably jealous you spent more quality time with a trompo than with it. Losing 6 spots is brutal though, those are the ones you'll drive past in 3 months and go "wait, what was that place" while your friend stares at you. Bank app as a food journal is kind of genius and also kind of sad, like your debit card remembers the pho better than you do. I use Google Keep for my list and it syncs across everything, so when my phone dies the list lives on like some kind of cockroach. Just email yourself the note once a month too, takes 10 seconds and saves you from ever sitting in that parking lot again.
