Unpopular opinion: I quit blending my clear into the next panel and started doing full panel clears
Had a 2019 Camry rear quarter job in Columbus back in March and the blend line kept showing up under the shop lights no matter what I did. I chose between another round of blend work at about $80 in materials and a full panel clear that ate two extra booth hours, and I went with the full clear. Three months later the paint still looks right and the customer never came back, but my boss says I'm burning booth time on jobs that don't need it. What's the going rule at your shop for when a blend is good enough and when it's worth clearing the whole panel?
