Was at a shop in Dayton last month and saw a kid spraying clear with no respirator
Stopped by a buddy's shop in Dayton to drop off some parts and there was a 19 year old spraying clear coat with just a dust mask on. My old boss back in 2008 would've thrown a fit, we couldn't even walk in the booth without a half mask and a tyvek suit. Anyone else seeing shops get lazy on safety gear lately or is it just the smaller outfits?
Heard a similar story from a guy at a parts counter in Columbus, said his shop stopped buying full face rigs cause the owner didn't want to pay for them anymore. Isocyanates don't care how young or tough you are, that stuff can mess up your lungs for good and the damage shows up years later. Small shops cutting corners on PPE is nothing new but it's still rough to watch.
