My gooseneck trailer coupler snapped on I-40 outside Knoxville
The locking pin sheared clean off at 6am heading to a pickup, cost me $180 for a tow and three hours waiting in a Pilot lot, has anyone else had those aftermarket couplers fail without any warning?
That aftermarket stuff is a gamble half the time, they don't always test it like the factory does. Same thing happens with cheap hitch pins and even trailer brakes, people swap parts to save $20 and end up paying way more later. Glad you're okay, but that's the kind of failure that makes you double-check every bolt before you hook up.
