Still waiting on a title transfer from a Texas broker after 9 weeks
I shipped a classic F-150 from Austin to Denver in March. Broker promised the title would arrive in 2 weeks, no problem. It's been 9 weeks and I've called 11 times. Every time they say it's in the mail or the DMV has a backlog. The driver was fine, the price was fair, but this post-ship paperwork mess has me ready to never use a middleman again. Has anyone else had a broker drag their feet like this, and what did you do to finally get it sorted?
The broker probably did exactly what they promised, just not on your timeline. You paid for a truck to get moved, and it got moved. The title chase is annoying, but nine weeks is actually pretty normal in Texas right now. I had a buddy wait four months for a title from a private sale down there, no broker involved at all. You might be better off calling the Texas DMV directly and asking for the status, because brokers sometimes just pass along whatever the state tells them. If the state says it is backlogged, then the broker is not really lying to you, they are just stuck in the same line you would be in anyway.
