Cracked crimp connectors on a 2018 Cessna 172, this little test caught it
I had to switch from my usual lead test to the push test on a second connector because the pins were recessed, and that one passed fine. The cracked one only showed up because I watched the insulation flex under pressure, not because of any meter reading. Curious if anyone has a better method for checking crimp integrity without yanking on every wire.
Watching the insulation flex under pressure is basically the crimp connector equivalent of a trust fall. Half of them pass the meter test and then fall apart the second you look at them wrong. Honestly I just keep a spare connector in my pocket and swap it out when one starts acting shady, way faster than playing detective on every wire.
