Found a stat about wiring failures that blew my mind

Was going through some old ARINC reports last week and saw that over 40% of avionics faults trace back to connector pin issues, not the boxes themselves. I pulled data from a 2023 maintenance study out of DFW and it matched up. Anyone else see this kind of ratio in their shop?

Over 40% of avionics faults trace back to connector pin issues" - that's insane, I had no idea it was that high. @king.lisa you're spot on though, I've seen it play out so many times. We had a Cessna in last month that kept throwing a weird NAV flag, whole shop spent two days swapping boxes and chasing ghosts. Turned out one pin in the backshell was just slightly bent, pressed it flat with a pick and it was golden. Annoying how much time gets wasted on something so stupid simple.

Pins are always the culprit in my experience, it's never the black boxes.
