Found out my old test gear is still worth real money, blew my mind
Was cleaning out the shop last weekend and found a beat up IFR-1000 sitting in the corner under a tarp. I figured it was junk, maybe worth $50 for parts. Did a quick search on my phone and saw one sold for $1,400 on eBay last month. That thing is over 30 years old and still holds calibration better than some of the newer boxes we got. It got me thinking about how we toss stuff aside just because it's older, even when it does the job fine. Anyone else sitting on vintage equipment that turned out to be valuable? Or am I the only one who almost threw away a small retirement fund?
