Pro tip: a loose cannon plug in Wichita made me crawl through the cargo bay with a flashlight in my teeth
Last Tuesday I was doing a pitot static leak check on a King Air in Wichita when the left pitot line kept bleeding down about 2 knots a minute, so I knew we had a leak somewhere in the system. I traced it back to a cannon plug behind the instrument panel that a guy had only hand snugged, and I couldn't reach it from the front seat with any tool I owned. So I ended up on my back in the cargo bay under the floorboards shining a flashlight between my teeth and reaching through a foot of wire bundle with a stubby wrench, and I got maybe a quarter turn on it. Re-ran the leak check and it held at zero for 10 minutes, so I'll call that a win. The kicker is the whole job took 3 hours, and 2 hours and 40 minutes of it was just me getting my arm unstuck. What's the dumbest spot you've had to wedge yourself into to reach a fitting?
