Showerthought: Hand-testing wires solved my intermittent radio glitch
I used to rely only on the test set for radio checks. A crackling sound led me to wiggle each cable by hand, and I found a bad splice. Now I do a physical tug test before anything else.

But that physical check makes so much sense. On-and-off problems are the worst to track down. How do you judge how hard to tug without causing new damage? I've seen connectors that look fine but fail under light stress. It's all about finding that balance between testing and not breaking anything. What's your rule of thumb for tension?

Try wiggling it like you normally would during use.

Tugging can cause damage, so I always just wiggle connectors lightly.
