Rant: I finally got my pack weight under 25 pounds for a 3-day trip after six months of swapping gear.

Switching from a bulky 5-pound tent to a 2-pound trekking pole shelter and a heavy cotton sleeping bag to a 30-degree down quilt made all the difference for my knees on the High Sierra Trail last month... what's the one piece of gear you swapped that dropped the most weight for you?

Honestly, swapping out my own snacks saved half a pound.

Wait, isn't a pound 16 ounces?

Guess we found the one person who didn't sleep through math class, @nina_sullivan61.

Remember when we all carried those giant metal water bottles? What were we thinking?
