Appreciation post: The old guy at the lumberyard in Spokane who showed me the wet sponge trick

Magic, sure, if your idea of magic is a week of sore knees. Ask stella307 how her arms feel after buffing all that oak. Worth it for the shine, though.

My sister said my bullet journal looked like a 'work report' and it stung

Ouch, "filing taxes" is a rough way to put it, but I get her point. The trap is making it all about crossing things off. Try adding just one stupid thing you like on each page, like a tiny doodle or a sticker from the mail. It doesn't have to be art, just something that makes you smile when you see it. Mine felt like a chore until I started writing down one good thing that happened each day, even if it's just "coffee was good." Turns it into a record of your life, not just your work.

Rant: I finally got my pack weight under 25 pounds for a 3-day trip after six months of swapping gear.

Honestly, swapping out my own snacks saved half a pound.

Unpopular opinion: I'm seeing way too many 'cloud bread' orders lately

What's the big deal with it? I mean, @norag55 has a point, it's just bread. But yeah, charging full price for egg foam feels kinda wild.

Appreciation post: The guy in Boise who showed me his corner bead trick

All those years of wrestling with tin snips and getting little metal shards everywhere, and the answer was a simple knife score. Makes you wonder what other basic tricks we're all overcomplicating out of habit. That guy in Boise saved you a lot of future frustration with one demo. For wavy walls, sometimes you just have to mud generously and sand even more.
