Spent 3 hours tracking down the worst audio sync issue in a bad movie only to realize my TV had a weird game mode setting on

I was rewatching The Room with friends and everyone kept pointing out the lips weren't matching the words until I checked the settings and saw game mode was adding some delay, took way too long to figure out for something so dumb.

Game mode always messes with audio on newer TVs, real pain to track down.

Isn't it funny how one little setting can throw everything off like that? I had a similar thing happen with an old DVD player where some "enhancement" mode was making everyone look like they were in a badly dubbed kung fu movie. It was one of those cheap players, and I ended up having to dig through the manual just to figure out why the audio was a half second behind. The worst part was that I was watching a serious movie too, not something like The Room where you expect it to be a little off. Makes you wonder how many other settings are messing with our shows without us even knowing.
