The bakery floor gave me a caramel bath and I'm still finding sticky spots
Last Saturday I was pulling a fresh batch of caramel tarts out of the oven at my shop in Tacoma and the whole sheet pan tilted. I caught it with my forearm, which meant hot caramel ran down my sleeve and pooled in my work boot before I could even swear. Took me 45 minutes to clean the floor, the mixer base, and my shoe, but the worst part was the customer at the counter watching the whole thing while holding a coffee. Has anyone else got a spill story that made you change how you carry pans, or am I the only one saving caramel for jury duty?
And caramel in your boot? That's nightmare fuel right there. I would have just stood there screaming until it cooled off. The customer watching with coffee makes it so much worse, like they got a free show with their pastry. I dropped a whole tray of hot scones once and my brain just froze while they rolled everywhere. You're definitely not alone, but the boot thing is next level. I think I'd rather take jury duty for a month.
