Heard a gardener at the community plot say use yogurt cups for seedling pots
Last Saturday I was at the Franklin community garden picking up compost and this older lady was telling her friend she starts all her peppers in old yogurt cups. She pokes three holes in the bottom with a nail, fills them with seed mix, and says they transplant way easier than those flimsy peat pots because you can squeeze the cup to loosen the roots. I tried it this week with my jalapenos and honestly the cups hold moisture better on my windy balcony. Has anyone else repurposed food containers like that, or do you stick with proper trays?
