Tried fabric pots vs plastic pots for my balcony peppers this year

I started 10 pepper plants back in April using fabric pots on one side and normal plastic pots on the other. The fabric pots dried out WAY faster which meant I had to water twice a day in July. But the roots in the plastic pots got all bound up and the plants stayed smaller. My 4 pepper plants in fabric pots gave me about 40 peppers total while the plastic ones barely hit 15. Has anyone else seen a big difference with fabric pots for balcony veggies?

40 peppers from 4 plants in fabric pots"? That's bonkers. I've been gardening for years and never pulled numbers like that from containers.
