Clipper fade improvement after I changed my blade gap

About 6 weeks ago I picked up a set of Wahl Seniors and my fades were coming out patchy no matter what I did. I kept adjusting my lever and playing with guards but it never looked clean. Finally I watched a video from a barber in Chicago who said to check the blade gap with a feeler gauge. I set mine to 1.5mm and the difference was night and day. Now my blends are smooth from skin to fade length and I can knock out a taper in 20 minutes flat. I used to think blade gap was just hype but it really changes how the clipper cuts. Has anyone else seen that big of a change just from tweaking the gap?

15mm gap is basically the difference between a smooth blend and a haircut that looks like a lawnmower fight, right @david_henderson6?

Gotta say that's pretty wild honestly. I always figured blade gap was just some technical thing for the pros but hearing how much it changed your fades makes me want to check mine this weekend lol. Feels like one of those small tweaks that can make or break your whole cut.
