One client's comment about my scissor angles reset my whole style

A guy in his 40s told me my cuts looked 'flat' from the back, and I thought he was just picky. Turns out I was keeping my shears too parallel to the head, so I started tilting them about 20 degrees on the crown and nape. Has anyone else had a single critique that made them rework their scissor work from scratch?
